ZOMG you guys, The Teenagers are back! Well, they’ve been back but with all this remix focus, I somehow missed that they released a new song (via Twitter, how typical) a couple of months ago. According to their website, a new album is in the works and they are collaborating with none other than Fred Falke to get it done. If you are familiar with the work of either the upstart French trio or the venerable French producer, you’ll know that this is a match made pretty much in heaven. The new track is pretty much what you’d expect, synthpoppy and irreverent with thick accents and very little acutal singing. As usual, The Teenagers’ charm lies in their particular brand of twinkly-eyed mockery/romanticization of youth culture and its fleeting, flippant sincerity.
Made Of – The Teenagers (from upcoming album)
Feeling Better – The Teenagers (one of my favorites from 2008′s Reality Check that really typifies their sound)
New in Town (Fred Falke Remix) – Little Boots (a superior mix from Fred Falke, and one of the reasons I’m so excited for this collaboration)
